Foreign Ministry reported on 28th that a Japanese climber and a Peruvian guide were caught in snow avalanche, and went missing at Mt. Huascarán which is the highest peak of the country (altitude: 6,768m) and is located Andean Cordilleras on 25th.
According to the report that the Foreign Ministry got from local police, the snow avalanche is occurred at altitude of 6,200m.
Other climber saw that the two of them were caught in the snow avalanche.
Embassy of Japan in Republic of Peru sent contact personnel to the field, and is attending to collecting information.
