According to a report which was informed to Japanese Consulate General in Denver, Colorado, the U.S. on 10, a state police’s helicopter that rescued a female who seems like Japanese, was go missing at a mountainous area near Santa Fe, Western New Mexico on 9th crashed while returning. Local media reported the female would be killed. According to the Japanese Consulate General, this Japanese female is not a person who is on list of Notification residence, so they are rushing to determine her identity and safety.
Santa Fe･ New Mexican (electronic edition) reported the female is from Tokyo and a student of University of New Mexico. According to the paper, she went hiking with her male friend, and went missing. Police got call from her in the late afternoon on 9th. The rescue helicopter picked her up, but it knocked up against the mountain in the night, and it crashed.
A rescue worker, got heavy injury by this crash, was found on 10, told police that a female who was riding with them and a pilot died.
It was dirty weather around the accident location from 9th to 10th.
