A 37 year old Japanese man arrested on suspicion of attempted drug trafficking through Katmandu Airport in April of last year died of serious injuiries resulting from an assault while imprisoned in Katmandu, the Napalese capital.
The deceased, a used-car salesman from Kanagawa, was hospitalised after receiving a serious – later fatal wound – on the moring of the 9th.
According to witness accounts, the deceased was struck with a dumbbell by another inmate whilst going to bed.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
