According to the General Consulate, 20 Japanese died within the jurisdiction of General Consulate of Japan in Shanghai (Shanghai City, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Jiangxi) in the first half of this year (January-June).
It can say more than 3 Japanese die every month even though 2 people fewer than last year.
90% of cause of death is illness, but they verified that there were some people who died by accident.
Japanese who live in China need to be careful against dangerous of life or working further to health control.
20 people out of 18 people died by illness in this term.
Most people died by apoplexia cerebri or cardiac infarct, it means their job stress and unbalanced eating habit led to their death.
Also, there was a case that a fortysomething Japanese male who was on a business trip collapsed when he got back his hotel room after he drank a lot of alcohol at a party.
When his colleague went to his room because he didn’t come out in next morning, he already died.
In China, they binge-drink strong alcohol as their custom, so reckless drinking led him to death.
＜＜A person was killed by a bus＞＞
2 fetal accidents were happened in this year as other current. No fetal accidents were happened last year as annual.
A fiftysomething Japanese female who lives in Shanghai was hit and killed by a bus that came from backward while she was walking near the bus terminal in the city.
Also, Japanese male expatriate personnel who was riding a taxi was involved and killed by car accident that involved 3 cars in Suzhou, Jiangsu which businesses of Japanese descent that plug into Shanghai.
The 2 people died in daily life or working, so any Japanese has possibility to be involved to fetal accidents.
＜＜There are 128 crime victimizations＞＞
On the other hand, numbers of Japanese crime victimization that was reported to the General Consulate of Japan in Shanghai in this term.
5 cases are decreased, but it’s almost same as last term.
In these cases, 80% of the crime victimization is harm from robbery of wallet and passport by baggage thief or picker.
There are no reports that people are involved to violent crime like murder, but people need to be careful.
Moreover, some reports of ‘rip-off’ are increasing. A person is called by strange woman or barker, and is claimed a large amount at an eating and drinking establishment which came in together.
Most of these cases aren’t reported, so there is no end of harm.
＜＜There could be deportation proceedings of Japanese＞＞
There is a case that Japanese got unexpected retribution before the opening ceremony because public authority is intensifying crackdown against foreigners for Beijing Olympic in Beijing. Public department is intensifying carrying passport against foreigners who stay in China and the General Consulate of Japan in Shanghai claim to carry their passport. According to the Rules Governing the Implementation of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Entry and Exit of Aliens, this low obligates foreigners who are over 16 years old to carry their passport all the time. Therefore, 3 Japanese people were punished with deportation proceedings.
In those cases, when Japanese female was having a meal at a Japanese restaurant in Beijing, she was required to show her passport, but she didn’t have her passport at that time, so she was punished with deportation proceedings, and her visa was revoked.
＜＜Be careful when you renew your visa＞＞
New case is reported that is related to passport in Shanghai.
Foreigners could domestic migrant without their passport before if they have a certification that public security issued when they have to domestic migrant for their business trip while they deposit their passport to public authority for renewing visa. However, some people are got a red flag or fine recently.
According to the General Consulate of Japan in Shanghai, Japanese male was refused to staying hotel where he reserved went to Dalian on his business trip because he didn’t have his passport even though he carried a certification of the public security. Therefore, the difference of response between inter-areas is highlighted.
Under a state of high alert in whole land of China because of the Beijing Olympic, officers in General Consulate of Japan in Shanghai expect that Japanese people will be involved to not only case or accident, but also unexpected troubles in the future.
The General Consulate of Japan in Shanghai says ‘we want Japanese people to pay attention to surroundings, get latest information that is related to public security, and ensure their safety’, and they alert them.
