According to Japanese Consulate General, a Japanese man was found lying on his face down on the shoal in seashore of Manukan Island, offshore of Kota Kinabalu in the States of Sabah in Malaysia (Borneo Island) on 22nd, so that he was taken to the hospital in Kota Kinabalu city but he died soon afterward.
The cause of death was drowning.
This deceased Japanese man had visited the shore with his wife.
Five islands, which locate offshore Kota Kinabalu, are appointed as national parks, and it is very popular among foreign tourists, however, there were already a couple of fatal accidents which involved four foreigners including one 64-years-old Japanese lady because of drowning.
