According to Malaysian police, on December 3rd on SAPI Island’s Saba cliffs on the shores of Kota Kinabalu, the condition of a Japanese woman tourist deteriorated and as a result, died after being taken to the hospital.
It was reported that at around 11:00 AM, after swimming about 50 meters away from shore, her actions began to seem strange.
She and her family were vacationing on the island at the time of the incident.
The Kota Kinabalu Beach of Sapi Island is a part of a string of islands which is popular for snorkeling and other water activities.
Many foreign tourists visit this island. On the previous day, the 2nd of December a Korean woman drowned.
